I Know, I Know... Another Tag

Someone told me today that I should start doing something "other than all those tagging posts!!" but I can't help myself... people keep tagging me; and I'm certainly not complaining. :-) It's fun!

My friend Ella tagged me, and I am to list fifteen things that I am not afraid to admit about myself! This tag seems a bit more difficult than the others, but I'm up for the challenge!

So, without further ado... Fifteen things I am not afraid to admit:

  1. While I love blogging, and blog often, I do not ever remember spending more than thirty minutes actually writing blog post; when the idea hits me, I mull over it and hash it out in my head before putting it on paper; though my editing can be a bit shoddy (as you've no doubt, seen -I'm sorry! :-), what you see on paper is the result of hours of contemplation.
  2. Though I love analyzing films, I know very little about the art of making them, besides what I've researched through biographies and filmmaking books. No hands-on experience here.
  3. Though I get horrible stage fright, I love acting! Public speaking is something I don't enjoy preparing for, but, by the middle of my speech, I'm usually enjoying myself; towards the end, I can't wait to get off the stage.
  4. Like Ella, I am not a fan of Charles Dickens. I suffered through Great Expectations, and, although I love the story line, A Christmas Carol, as well as sifting through a bulk of Hard Times to no avail... I don't like it.
  5. I love Shakespeare and Jane Austen (not surprisingly, I know). A Midsummer Night's Dream is my favorite Shakespearean work, and Emma is my favorite Jane Austen work.
  6. I love -absolutely adore -the men's lines at Banana Republic, Express, and J. Crew, but my brother playfully calls them sissy clothes and refuses to let me dress him up in them. :-)
  7. I knew I was going to vote third party way before Mr. Obama and Mr. McCain won the democratic and republican nominations, but I still rooted against all hope for Ron Paul.
  8. I enjoy listening to radio dramas from the 40s and 50s, especially Suspense and The Lux Radio Theater
  9. I'm watching Summer Stock right this minute.
  10. When Daddy and I are running errands, we either listen to Fox news or ESPN on satellite radio. I don't watch sports, but I love to listen to the sportscasters on ESPN; and of course I love learning more about politics (in case you hadn't guessed).
  11. Like Ella, I hate to fly, even though, in this household, it's often necessary. Whenever I step onto an airplane, I'm sure I won't make it off in one piece.
  12. When I was a little girl, my favorite book was Where the Wild Things Are. I still read it for old time's sake, and, despite the fact that Max is a very bad little boy, I have it in my hopechest. :-)
  13. I love the old tradition of men standing up whenever a woman leaves the dinner table; I don't know anyone that does it anymore, but I like to see it in the old movies, and hope my  husband does it, because it seems so gallant to me. :-)
  14. When I was ten, I told all my friends at school that I'd be married by the time I was nineteen... Well, at an official eighteen and a half, I suppose I'll have to retract that statement. :-)
  15. I love to have that old "Confederate" vs. "Union" argument, even though the war's... well... over. I like books like "The Real Lincoln," "War Between the States," and "The Jefferson Davis Memoirs."
All-righty! I tag anyone who wants to participate!

I must admit that I am in love with tags too. So, I'll give it a go. :)
I'll get it posted right now (unless I get interrupted by something :)

I just had to comment on a couple of things you said...

I love Shakespeare and Jane Autstn too! And, my favorite books of theirs are also "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Emma"!

I think that old tradition of the men standing up whenever a women leaves the room is so gallant! I wish they still did it! :)

You have no idea how refreshing it is to know that you and your dad listen to ESPN. After having been in a VERY legalistic church, we constantly are "looking over our shoulder" when we watch 1940's movies or listen to things other than hymns. So to know you do it....my family doesn't feel so weird.

I cannot begin to express how much I destest flying. Thankfully, I don't have to do it much!

The Conservative vs. Union argument. That is a good one! That would be something good to talk about!

Hey Jasmine,
I did the tag!

Oh! I too love Jane Austen, my favorite would have to be Pride and Prejudice. I have never read Emma, maybe I should!
I can't say much for flying! I have only done it once (that I remember!). I liked it though!

Hey Jasmine!

I heard they're making that book, "Where the Wild Things Are" into a movie.

Who knows what "they'll" come up with next?!

My heart always leaps when I'm watching a show and the men stand up for the lady entering or leaving the room.
Hmm.. I think I'm going to teach my boys to do that! :)
