Micah entered for his lovely fiancé and won a free registration to Evenings with Victoria Botkin! I'm sure these sessions will be an immense blessing to the future Mrs. H as she prepares for her role as a new wife.
Micah (awesome name: my six-month old cutie pie of a brother wears it well), if you'll just send me your fiancè's name and email address, I'll make sure to pass that information along to Western Conservatory for her free registration!
I hope that those of you who didn't win this time will still listen in if you are able --I myself am so looking forward to these sessions! Click here to register! And if you didn't get a chance to enter this giveaway, don't worry! Generation Cedar and Life in a Shoe both have Monday deadlines on their giveaways --it's not too late to enter!
Have a happy weekend as we soar into March --can you believe February is almost over? Every day brings us closer to spring, and it brings me closer -at long last -to those twenties and further from the last few weeks of my teens.
I'm already older than my dad was when he was engaged to my mama -by this summer, I'll be older than he was when he got married, as my parents were wed a mere six months after the first day they met, and ten months after they were married, they had me (and this month, Daddy will officially have been married to Mama for most of his life -he's very excited about that). Although my mama was a bit older, nineteen and twenty have always had special, "grown up" significance for this "youngster" (for no matter how many years pass, I seem to stay quite young), as ages where my dad was taking on a huge responsibility (and being given a gift he didn't deserve, my mother). I'm just now realizing how young he really was! I'm reminded of how important these years of youth are in becoming the woman that the Lord has called me to be, for his glory, primarily, and, in that pursuit, for the blessing of the saints. I look forward to these sessions as just another way to keep my eyes trained on that eternal goal.
Turning twenty-teen isn't quite at the top of my list of exciting spring events, but it is exciting (as every birthday is still a wee bit exciting for me; my parents tried to negotiate me just turning nineteen again, but we compromised instead... twenty-teen will have to do). I think one of the most exciting things is Grace Family Baptist's church plant (Lord willing, the first of many: click here for part three of that series) and our spring conference (April 9-10) with Russell Moore -I can't wait to meet him after so enjoying his Adopted for Life! (As excited as I am about hearing Paul Washer this October at our annual FIC conference) What are you most excited about this upcoming spring?

I do not have as many things on my plate as you do to look forward to. But I always look forward to spring, not for activities more so for What our Lord Jesus does with nature. The trees blossoming, the flowers appearing, people planting gardens, and kids riding their bikes. It seems like in the spring, the sleepy earth awakes to sing praises to our King!
20 years old, oh my Dear Jasmine I would have never guessed. You are truly beautiful, and so very young looking. What a blessed time of learning and growing. What a blessings that you will be so much better prepared in marriage and being a helpmeet to your beloved than I was at your age!! Praise the Lord.
Looking forward to the church planting in Conroe..

I have a spring birthday as well, so my gift every year is seeing nature wake up again. The flowers lifting the gay blossoms up to the sky once more, the birds chirping merrily outside my breakfast window, and all those lovely things that say 'spring'. A special aspect of this spring is the amount of hosting we shall be doing. Our family always looks forward to that.
Thanks, Jasmine, for reminding me that spring really is just around the corner and how fleeting time is. Every moment our thoughts should be on Him and His Kingdom so that we may use the time He has given us as He wills.
Soli Deo Gloria!

I will be 20 on May 4th, when is your birthday? It's funny because a resturants I still get asked if I want a kids menu, and I've even been asked if I was "10 or under" :)
Aww, how sweet of you Micah! :) I'm sure she'll LOVE it! :D Congratulations to her! ;)

Well, this spring I look forward to Joel's dad visiting, visiting friends in Lebanon, the Requiem performance, and lots of new learning and adventures, and definitely sanctification (always thrown in there, and always so good, even if usually not fun).
And in the fall I'm looking forward to my whole family probably coming to the conference!!
Our churches are in similar places with church planting (even though with different principles, sadly), and it's so exciting.
love,
Cait
I turned 20 this past fall, and leaving behind my teen years was something I liked forward to. Unfortunately, I didn't see any sudden, magical increases in my maturity level. Ah, well - back to work.
I loved Russel Moore's book, too. By the way, where's the new church plant? Any plans in the works for planting one about three states away from TX? (hint, hint) :)
Jasmine,
I found your blog very recently after watching The Return of the Daughters (which was convicting, challenging, and life changing for me and for the rest of my family). I LOVE your blog. I cannot tell you how much of a blessing and encouragement it has been to me! Keep up the wonderful work. I am one of those people who would love a daily post. ;)
Twenty-teen. I am certainly going to use that!
I will be turning twenty-teen in April. :)
I think that I am the most excited about what the Lord will do in my life this year - spring, summer, fall and winter. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord...." I can't wait!
Soli Deo Gloria,
Emilia
How exciting that you about to enter your twenties! If the saying is true that the 40's are the new 30's, the 30's the new 20's, etc., then I guess twenty-teen sounds right:)
Seems like it is going to be a busy spring for you.
I also have a spring birthday but it would still be my favorite season even if I wasn't born in it. One of the things I am excited about this spring is spring weather. I am also excited about a couple of trips and time together with family and friends. Lastly, I am excited about a "spiritual spring" going on in me. It has been winter-like spiritually speaking, but there is a sense of awakening in me and I am excited about the ever so tiny buds of new life popping up. I praise God for winters- they are so needed, and they makes spring so much sweeter.

I'm turning 19 this spring... it is a rather sobering thing, although like you, I still take some measure of delight in my birthday. :D
The header looks wonderful, Jasmine! I'm thrilled! :D Thank you for letting me make it for you. :) It was a pleasure!
Hugs,
Julia

I will be 20 this coming week, and I have a question for you Jasmine. Do you feel as old as 20 sounds, or am I the only one that feels that way? It just seems like such a mature number...
Love your blog! :)
Oh, Jasmine, you're turning 20!!! I'm only 12, so I don't have to worry about that for 8 whole years. I'm not even in the teens yet! Sigh......It must be exciting to turn 20.
I love the new header that Julia made for you!
Blessings,
Sydney
P.S. Congratulations, Micah!
My mom was 16 when she got married, my dad 19, so I have passed both of those markers and felt exactly as you do passing your parent's! In fact, when I turned 19 last year, a man at church was contemplating this. "So...you're as old as your dad was when he was married...hmmm." (-: Now my younger sister is passing up Mama's age as well, so that feels quite strange!
Thanks so much! She's extremely excited! We didn't know how we were going to afford this, so this was definately a huge blessing! She turns 20 today, so it was extra awesome to be able to surprise her with this on her birthday!
Thank you so much Jasmine and all who set this up! I sent her info on Facebook to you.
